Strong communities foster strong mental health. In celebration of Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW), Gleneagle State School is opening its doors to students, families, and locals for its Community Connect Wellbeing Day on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Aligning with this year’s official QMHW theme—“Build Community, Build Wellbeing”—the event moves beyond general awareness by actively bridging the gap between local families and vital regional support services. The action-packed day combines interactive learning, physical movement, and hands-on fun to showcase how connection and belonging drive everyday mental health.
What’s Happening on the Day
-
Workshops & Shows: Bullyproof Australia’s Jeff Horne presenting Finding Your Voice, alongside high-energy BMX performances by JC Action Sports.
-
Movement & Fun: Line dancing sessions with Stomp and Scuff, hands-on craft stations (making succulent pots, fidget keyrings, and nature necklaces), and interactive wellbeing zones.
-
Support & Info: A dedicated parent information session and a community marketplace featuring local support agencies and businesses.
-
Food & Giveaways: A morning tea, community BBQ sausage sizzle, lucky door prizes, and takeaway wellbeing gift bags packed with family resources.
Whether you are looking to connect with local support networks or simply enjoy a day of positive family activities, the event offers something for all ages.
