The RACQ has teamed up with The Rescue Collective to urge drivers to slow down on our roads and to be extra mindful that we are right in the middle of the peak season for collisions with wildlife. Data released from the RACQ shows June through until October being the worst month for these collisions.

It is breeding season for animals so they are out looking for food which is quite often on roadsides.

Motorists are being asked to slow down and take care and, if you do hit an animal and it survives, please stop and contact your local wildlife rescue service to see if they can keep it alive or check to see if they can rescue any orphans.

One number it would be a good idea to save in your contact list is the RSPCA Wildlife Ambulance 1300 264 645.

Please keep yourself and our wildlife safe when out on the roads.
